How Advertisement started?

After having an iftar, I was going through the newspaper. You know, just to have a lenient time while seeing what's troubling the world.

Suddenly, something got my eyes. The advertisement in the newspaper! It's nothing like I've never seen those before. But, it got my attention for another reason.

How on earth did people get the idea to put an ad in the newspaper? When they came up with the idea?

So, got into doing some research to give peace to my restless mind.

Now guess! What was the topic of the first ad on paper? Well, it was about real estate. Interesting right? In 1704, the ad was about selling a plantation on Oyster Bay, Long Island.

Though it started with real estate, it became more popular for the vegetable business and quirky within few days. Slowly, ad agencies started showing up. And the most interesting one was founded by Robert Palmer.

He used to work on the newspaper formation and make space. Later on, he used to sell those spaces to the hungry crowd at a very high price. He used to call himself the master as he advertised a small space to put a costly advertisement.

I got goosebumps when I came back to reality. Electronics, Groceries, Beauty Products, and whatnot! The spark real estate ad created, has become a volcano today.
